"From now on your A-Z will be my primary source of information of American classics! God save American vintage and its great ambassador!" - Miina Karske of Gloria Magazine, Finland
The Gap is one of the most beloved retail brands in America. Gap offers its customers casual wear wardrobe basics such as jeans, t-shirts and khaki pants. Don Fisher, who co-created the Gap with his wife Doris, said he started the Gap with 'a simple idea to make it easier to find a pair of jeans.'
Gap started out in 1969 selling Levi’s, records and tapes in San Francisco, California where it is still headquartered today. Today, Gap sells only its own private label in its stores. Gap has over 3000 stores worldwide and owns other retail brands, including Old Navy and Banana Republic.
