Using several pieces from AMERICANA’s line of antiques and curiosa, the Idea Home will represent how vintage style can be incorporated to create a cozy family dwelling.  Interior designer and project director Agnetha Monzon says, “this home showcases a unique look in Sweden. It’s a distinct departure from the clean interior trends we have seen in the Nordic region in recent decades.”

The home will feature the family’s collection of textiles and Scandinavian mid-century modern classics which are mixed with AMERICANA vintage home items and industrial pieces from the U.S.A.

“These bold features blend very well with the rest of the decor, creating a timeless look,” says Monzon. “Plus, the mood becomes very personal with an assemblage of items which reflect the family’s character.”

The home of Gay and Mike Crane is not dictated by trends. The interior style of this family residence is rather influenced by the favorite pieces the couple finds at estate sales, flea markets and industrial dumpster diving.

Gay and Mike have been collectors for years, in many states throughout the U.S. Love of picking and collecting has led them to create a cozy family dwelling which is like none of their neighbors.

“We select everyday pieces as much as we do the things which are unique or rare,” says Gay. “It can be an old rusty pulley that we find while digging through a closed factory or an advertising clock that we win at an auction. In either case, we love bringing the history of the piece into our home to give it a distinctive look.”

Gay and Mike now bring their decades-old contacts with the best places and people and years of skilled picking to AMERICANA.  The couple and their extended network of pickers assembles a monthly curated collection, which is sold exclusively at AMERICANA Classic Vintage.
